New National Food Group Launched - Tastes Real Food UK
Posted On: 08 December 2009A new national good-food organisation, Taste Real Food UK, launched September of this year, has its roots right here in Bedford. The concept of Taste Real Food was born out of the incredible work Sue Miller had achieved as leader of the local group Slow Food Bedford. Taste Real Food is a not-for-profit organisation and aims to educate and inspire adults and children alike through events and local projects. Taste Real Food celebrates local culture and diversity. It highlights, supports and promotes the rich variety and high quality of local food and drink around the UK. One such ambitious project is the TRFB Project 2009 which educates lower school children through fun events that incorporate not only taste education through Look, Touch, Taste and Feel but has also established their Bedford Heritage Hero, Thomas Laxton. The project is funded by member attendance at Taste Real Food Bedford events with additional support from Bedford in Bloom and will go on in 2010 to reach out to young adults and parents. Visit www.tasterealfood.com for more information on how you can join the Bedford group. Slow Food Bedford is no longer in existence.
